On new platform investments, the Firm's investment focus has been and remains on lower middle market businesses headquartered in the Western U.S. We seek businesses that are leaders in sizable and expanding niche markets that have established competitive advantages, scalable core competencies and clearly identifiable growth opportunities. We partner with experienced and committed Operating Managers in each transaction and focus on value creation from Day 1 against a written Operating Plan. We are active investors executing operating discipline that is focused on producing strong business fundamentals and maximizing equity value upon exit. While we prefer to invest in proven business models, we also consider sub-optimized businesses and can bring extensive operational experience and our own internal resources to upgrade and expand management, systems, and growth pathways.
