Travis International owned and operated
a collection of diversified, high-margin wholesale
distribution businesses including American Packing
and Gasket Co., DE-RO/Suncoast, Inc., Mountain Empire
Rubber & Specialty Company, and New West Communications,
Inc. In 1996, Marwit provided structured debt and
equity to facilitate the Company’s
acquisition of New West Communications, which increased
the Company’s revenues to $85 million. Other
major investors in the Company were Bradford Ventures
and Equus II. In 1999, the Company was sold to Summit
Capital Group, LLC, a Houston based buyout firm.
