Solis Women’s Health Names Richard Pence COO
ADDISON, TX – February 20, 2012 – Solis Women’s Health, the nation’s largest independent provider of screening and diagnostics for breast cancer, is pleased to announce that Richard D. Pence has been appointed COO.
Mr. Pence will oversee the company’s day-to-day operations as it continues to expand its nationwide network of clinics devoted exclusively to the screening and diagnosis of breast cancer, which currently serves over 500,000 patients in five states.
“Rick has a strong track record of successfully driving the daily operations of fast growing, multi-location, alternative site (non-hospital) healthcare companies, particularly in the ASC sector where an absolutely unwavering commitment to quality of care and compliance were essential,” said Solis Chairman Matthew Witte. “We look forward to the addition of his proven leadership skills as we seek to expand our platform in existing and new markets with a particular focus on partnering with major hospital systems in improving their continuum of care in women’s health.”
Prior to assuming the position of COO at Solis, Mr. Pence was a co-founder of National Surgical Care, a nationwide owner and operator of ambulatory surgery centers headquartered in Dallas, TX. Mr. Pence progressively served as CDO (2002-2006) and COO/ President (2007-2011) for nine years before the company was sold to a strategic partner. During his tenure, Mr. Pence successfully led the company in raising $75M in capital and acquiring 18 additional surgical centers. His career also includes three years as Senior Vice President and COO of Magella Healthcare, Dallas, TX, six years with National Surgery Centers, Dallas, TX, and nine years with Medical Care International, Dallas, TX.
Mr. Pence, a CPA, has a strong financial background, holding a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Alabama, and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.
